Description

The Cat's Eye Nebula known as NGC 6543 and Caldwell 6 is a Planetary Nebula located 3000 light-years away in the northern constellation of Draco and was discovered by William Herschel in 1786. It's a dying Star throwing off beautiful shells of glowing gas.

The Nebula didn't clear my trees until after 1am and it took me 2 nights to gather the data. This is my longest integration time to date as I wanted to get enough data to produce a nice image.  It's sits rather close to the North Celestial Pole so it moves slowly across the sky rendering excellent guiding.

I hope you like it.

CS, Eddie
